Work Study
Student workers apply their work knowledge to in school work situations. Each work period is 42 minutes in length. Students are paid a stipend for working beginning at $2.25/day. Obviously this is not a wage, simply a way to compensate good work performance. Students earn raises for maintaining 95% attendance rate for the grading period (automatic $.25 raise) as well as work performance raises based on observed work behaviors recorded on a 16 point work performance rubric. Students scoring above 80% overall would be considered "employable" , ready for work/job placement in the community.

The Career Skills Class will prepare seniors to find/get and keep jobs through the development of Life Skills English Skills - writing, reading, understanding vocabulary on various real life forms (ie. Job Applications, Forms for HIre - I9, W-4, State Withholding forms; Tax forms, Completion of Job Applications, Resume writing, Information Form completion, In-person communication skills, telephone skills, writing on the job etc.)
